Recently, I gave notice at work to go per diem. Per diem is Latin for “work when I feel like it” (roughly). Since I didn't win the lottery or acquire an inheritance or rob a bank, this means less money for my household.
Fortunately, a few months ago I started really thinking about how I don't need so much stuff. It is crowding my life and distorting my perception of what is important. I’m not quite ready for the 100 Thing Challenge, but I’ve made enough trips to Goodwill to prove I mean business. My house is steadily becoming airier. So the less stuff part of less money should be okay. |
